Once you find out you are pregnant, it is important to contact our office to get scheduled for a new obstetrics visit. When you call, you will need to know the first day of your last menstrual period. This will give our receptionist an idea of when to schedule your appointment. If you are not already taking them, we recommend you start taking prenatal vitamins. If you would like a prescription for this, please let the receptionist know.
- What will my first obstetrics appointment look like?
- At this appointment we will:
- Go over the extensive medical and family history of both you and your partner.
- Perform necessary tests (pap smear, STI screening, urine culture). Please come prepared to give a urine sample!
- If you are seeing a doctor, we will typically do a transvaginal ultrasound. This is an internal ultrasound done to measure your baby and to be sure all looks okay!
