  • I just started a new birth control and I am having irregular bleeding, what should I do or how long should this take to regulate?
    • When starting or changing birth control you may notice irregular bleeding for approximately 3 months. If you feel like your bleeding is too heavy or it does not regulate after roughly 3 months, please contact your provider.
  • My script was sent to the wrong pharmacy. What do I do?
    • Please contact your current pharmacy and they will transfer the prescription from where it was sent.
  • I have had a pap and haven’t gotten results. How can I see these?
    • Typically, no news is good news, however, you can call our office for results or check our patient portal. The patient portal is a great resource to see all test results!
  • I am scheduled for an appointment and started my period, can I still come?
    • Typically, yes! If you are comfortable with it, we are more than happy to see you! However, if your bleeding is heavy and you need a pap smear, your results may come back insufficient. Feel free to call our office with any other questions you may have!
  • What do I do if my period is late?
    • The first step is to take a pregnancy test. After you know the results from the pregnancy test, please contact our office for further guidance.
  • How can I contact Mary Rutan OB/GYN after-hours for urgent concerns?
    • Each day we have an on-call provider. This is for urgent concerns you may have after our office is closed. Please keep in mind that it is always better to call during office hours when our providers have easy access to your chart and medical history. To reach our on-call provider, please contact the hospital at 937.592.4015. Press 0 for the operator and ask for the on-call OB/GYN provider.
