Birth Control Methods

  • Birth Control Pills
    • These are a pill form of medication that is taken daily to prevent pregnancy. It is very important to take these daily around the same time of day.
  • IUD
    • This form of birth control is called an Intrauterine Device. An IUD is placed in the uterus by a trained medical professional. Depending on the type of IUD, these last anywhere from 3-5 years.
  • Nexplanon
    • The Nexplanon is a subdermal implant placed in your arm by a trained medical professional and can prevent pregnancy for 3 years.
  • Depo Provera
    • Depo-Provera is an injection given every 12 weeks to prevent pregnancy.
  • Diaphragm
    • A diaphragm is a barrier method of contraception. It fits inside the vagina and prevents sperm from passing through the cervix. You need to use it with a gel that kills sperm (spermicide). This is a barrier you need to be fitted for in the OB/GYN office.
  • Condom

  • Vasectomy
    • This is a procedure done on males to stop the flow of sperm.
