Mary Rutan Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Ryan J. McNeilan, MD, to Mary Rutan Orthopedics and Sports Medicine through our collaborative partnership with the Orthopedic Institute of Ohio (OIO). Dr. McNeilan will join our expansive team of orthopedic physicians in Bellefontaine on the third floor of the state-of-the-art Mary Rutan Health Center located at 1134 North Main Street. Here, he will specialize in sports medicine and the treatment of knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle injuries with a special focus on hip arthroscopy, including labral repair and reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, including ACL reconstruction, meniscus surgery, and management of patellar instability and shoulder arthroscopy including rotator cuff and labral repair.

Dr. McNeilan is an Ohio native who grew up in Versailles. He graduated from The Ohio State University summa cum laude with a degree in exercise science education. He then completed medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he graduated cum laude. Dr. McNeilan completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The Ohio State University and spent an additional year of fellowship training in sports medicine orthopedic surgery at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver, Colorado. During this fellowship, Dr. McNeilan served as assistant team physician for the MLB’s Colorado Rockies and the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
