June 26, 2024 – Mary Rutan Health is pleased to welcome Dr. William Houser, a familiar and trusted face to many of our patients and staff. He will join our cardiology team full-time beginning August 1, 2024. Dr. Houser has been an invaluable member of our cardiology team for several years through a collaboration with the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. Now, as he embarks on a new chapter in his career, he has chosen to extend his commitment and compassionate care to our patients at Mary Rutan Health full-time.
“At Mary Rutan Health, we are transforming local healthcare,” said Chad Ross, the president and CEO of the health system. “One of the ways we are accomplishing that is by making space for top-tier physicians like Dr. Houser on our specialty teams. We are incredibly fortunate that Dr. Houser believed in our mission and chose to make Mary Rutan Health the next chapter in his career. He joins an already extraordinary team of Drs. Craig Siegel and Sami Aasar”.
Dr. Houser is a distinguished specialist in noninvasive cardiology, encompassing various diagnostic procedures such as cardiac echo, nuclear cardiology, peripheral vascular diagnostic testing, and managing conditions such as hypercholesterolemia and hypertension. His expertise extends beyond these technical aspects, as he also plays a crucial role in consulting with colleagues on patient cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring that our patients receive the most comprehensive and high-quality care possible.
Dr. Houser's academic career has been marked by unique opportunities for mentoring and research. As a sub-investigator in numerous clinical research studies, his findings have been published in prestigious medical journals such as Circulation Research. His position as assistant professor of clinical medicine at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center further underscores his expertise.
Dr. Houser, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, is a shining example of commitment to patient satisfaction. His consistent rating among the top 10 percent of physicians in the nation for patient satisfaction is a testament to his dedication and patient-centric approach.
Dr. Houser's journey in medicine began at Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he graduated in 1990. He then completed an internship at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 1991, followed by a residency at the same center in 1993.
