Sarah Channell APRN, FNP completed her Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing at Thomas More College in KY. Initially, she worked for Children’s Hospitals specializing in neonatal infant and pediatric care. Sarah branched into adult care at OhioHealth focusing on postoperative care, oncology infusions, pain management, and several outpatient specialty care clinics. After recognizing the need for additional providers especially in rural settings, Sarah returned to Mount Carmel College of Nursing to earn a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. “My goal,” she said, “has always been to treat people in my community and to provide them with the best possible medical services.”

Currently, Sarah is part of the Mary Rutan Health Team practicing at the Internal Medicine office. Her focus is on health screenings, managing chronic diseases, and meeting people where they are at in their mental health journey as well as supporting clients in recovery from substance use disorder. “I have spent a long time learning techniques to help clients struggling with addiction identify their personal goals and reconnect with their families. Addiction treatment utilizes both medication, motivational interviewing, and connecting clients with counseling supports within the community to sustain recovery. Addiction does not just affect one person, it affects entire families and I am here to help meet their health care needs and return to a higher level of functioning. For years I have worked closely with many treatment facilities, counselors, probation officers, and court systems to help clients navigate through their individual recovery journey. Let me know if there is a way I can support you with your health and wellness journey!"
