Biography

Leigh Ann Swank, FNP, is a dual-certified Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner at Mary Rutan Health. Launching her nursing career in 2008, Leigh Ann achieved an Associate Degree in Nursing from the Kettering College of Medical Arts in Kettering, Ohio. Deciding to further her medical education, Leigh Ann went on to receive a Master of Science in Nursing Administration in 2012 from the University of Pheonix, and a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Ohio University in 2016. In 2020, she earned a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Post Graduate Certification (PMHNP-BC) from the University of Cincinnati.

Leigh Ann has professional experience in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients throughout the life span. She worked for over 8 years as a clinical staff nurse in advanced care, emergency, and post-anesthesia care settings. She then moved on to a Family Nurse Practitioner role in Champaign County, Ohio. After receiving her PMHNP-BC certification, she began providing mental health services to her patients. Leigh Ann’s extensive and diversified medical background allows her to personalize care for her patients. With a focus on primary care and mental health, she is dedicated to making sure her patients have access to collaborative, compassionate care.

Now a Champaign County resident, Leigh Ann has been married to her husband for over 25 years. She is a mom of two and her kids keep her busy with school and sports events. When Leigh Ann has downtime, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and attending a variety of sports events.
