Mary Rutan Therapy & Sports Medicine offers a specialized group exercise program for people with Parkinson’s disease and other degenerative neurological conditions. Delay the Disease™ is an evidenced-based fitness program designed to empower those living with Parkinson’s disease by optimizing their daily physical function and helping to delay the progression of their symptoms.
Our program will be led by Delay the Disease™ Parkinson’s Fitness Program Certified Instructors. The instructors include:

- Hannah Hartsel PT, DPT, Certified LSVT BIG clinician
- Danica Jarrell COTA/L
- Grace Overly PT, DPT, C/NDT, Certified LSVT BIG clinician
This nationwide community-based wellness program is designed to retrain the mind and body. Participants have reported improvements in quality of life, regained ability to successfully manage aspects of their disease, and extended maintenance of independence. This program targets daily functional challenges and symptom-specific fitness. Exercise programs are adapted to fit all participants’ levels of ability.
This fitness program was designed by leading Parkinson’s fitness specialists David Zid BA, ACE, APG and Jackie Russell RN, BSN, CNOR.
The program is comprised of 12 exercise classes that include a screening consultation before and after each 12 class session.
The cost is $80 per 12 class session. Payments should be made in full at the first class.
