The Mary Rutan Laboratory is a full-service, fully accredited laboratory consisting of the clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology with accreditation by the following agencies: CAP, AABB, DNV, and CLIA. The laboratory is led by a full-time medical director and is staffed with professional, caring people committed to providing top quality, cost-effective healthcare. We are staffed 24 hours a day to serve our inpatients and have extensive outpatient hours as well.
Direct access laboratory testing
Mary Rutan Health is pleased to offer direct access laboratory testing. This service allows patients to take control of their health by allowing them to access and monitor their health status more frequently, conveniently and at an affordable price.
Affordable healthcare continues to be one of the most important needs of our community. With the implementation of the direct access laboratory testing, patients have access to very affordable and convenient lab tests. This new service is just one more way that Mary Rutan Health continues to focus its attention on the consumer experience.
Results are accompanied by reference ranges but are not intended to take the place of further medical advice. In the event one of the tests selected through direct access laboratory testing indicates a critical value—a reading (level) that could immediately impact a patient's health status—they will be contacted via a phone call from Mary Rutan Laboratory Services. They will then be responsible for contacting their physician or medical provider for follow-up care.
At Mary Rutan Health, we are focused on empowering consumers with the tools they need to make informed healthcare choices. Our goal is to be the most cost-effective, convenient, and consumer-friendly laboratory service in our area.
Laboratory tests play a critical role in measuring and monitoring individual health and wellness. Lab test results identify or confirm the diagnosis of approximately 70 percent of all illnesses. Enabling consumers to directly purchase lab tests can establish a health baseline, increase the effectiveness of wellness programs, and makes the interactions with trusted health providers more efficient.
While direct access laboratory testing has been available for some time now, Mary Rutan Health is the first to offer these services in our area. In addition to the launch of direct access laboratory testing, Mary Rutan Health has recently reduced physician ordered laboratory pricing across the board.
