COVID-19 ADVISORY: DO NOT ATTEND AN UPCOMING APPOINTMENT IF YOU HAVE FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS. BE SURE TO CONTACT YOUR PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER FOR A TELEPHONE ASSESSMENT OF YOUR CONDITION.
Provided by Dr. Thomas Kiefer.
Expert and compassionate care for patients of all ages for the diagnosis and treatment of allergic disorders including:
- Hay fever.
- Hives and swelling.
- Severe allergic reaction.
- Eczema and rashes.
- Sinus disease.
- Food allergy.
- Stinging insect allergy.
- Flu vaccine and egg allergy.
- Recurrent infections.
Allergy testing is done on the day of your visit and patients will receive their test results in about 15 minutes. The testing is done by the preferred skin scratch method. The discomfort is minimal and well tolerated by children. In cases where the skin cannot be tested, a blood test can be ordered.
In addition to avoidance and medication (symptom relief), immunotherapy (allergy shots) may be recommended. Immunotherapy is still the only treatment method that can actually reduce the severity of the allergy itself. The injections are given once or twice weekly to provide patients with the best combination of safety and efficacy.
