Motivation and support comes in many forms, including a cold nose and a warm heart!
Mary Rutan Therapy & Sports Medicine welcomes Natalie to the team! Natalie comes to us from Canine Companions for Independence. Natalie is a 4 year old Labrador Retriever. Natalie's handler is Jessica Anders, PT, MPT, C/NDT.
Facility dogs are expertly trained dogs that partner with a handler working in a professional setting. Canine Companions facility dogs are trustworthy in professional environments and can perform over 40 commands designed to motivate and inspire both pediatric and adult patients throughout their course of treatment.
Natalie was carefully bred and expertly trained by Canine Companions specifically for this type of work, so she is not only friendly and fun, she is also very sweet and gentle. It is evident that Natalie is at her happiest when Jessica puts her Canine Companions vest on in the morning. She knows she is getting ready to help people!
When she's not working, Natalie's favorite things include playing Frisbee, belly rubs and cuddling. She likes the beach, the park and long walks but thinks jogging is exhausting.
Natalie was provided free of charge to the Therapy & Sports Medicine team by Canine Companions. To learn more about Canine Companions for Independence, please visit www.cci.org.
