Mary Rutan Hospital announces that effective August 30, 2021, Mandy Goble, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), will retire. Chad Ross, Mary Rutan Hospital's current Chief Operations Officer (COO), will assume the position of President and CEO.
"Goble has led the Mary Rutan Hospital system of healthcare through unparalleled growth and success," said Scott Shellhaas, Chairman of the Board of Directors. "Mandy has amassed a remarkable record of leadership and accomplishment and has positioned the hospital well for the future," said Shellhaas. "She has consistently mastered the changing healthcare landscape in a way that has ensured our financial stability and established the Hospital as an award-winning provider of quality health services for the benefit of our patients and community."
Goble's career at Mary Rutan Hospital has spanned thirty-two years, including the past seventeen-and-a-half as the President and CEO. Before her current position, Goble served as Executive Vice President from 2001 to 2004 and Vice President of Operations from 1989 to 2004.
Mandy's dedication to the community and Mary Rutan Hospital has been evident in her drive to expand the level of services and maintain the organization's financial strength, strategically positioning Mary Rutan Hospital to remain independent when many community hospitals have been forced to merge with larger health systems.
"It has been an extraordinary honor to lead such an exceptional team of talented and devoted people over the years," said Goble. "I am very proud of all we have accomplished together to advance and improve the health and well-being of our community."
Mary Rutan Hospital's next President and CEO, Chad Ross, achieved his undergraduate Bachelor's Degree from Miami University, cum laude, with a double major in accounting and finance, and his Law Degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. Ross is a 1989 graduate of Indian Lake High School and has been with Mary Rutan Hospital since 2013. He served as Vice President of Operations from 2013 to 2019 and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the past two years.
"I am leaving Mary Rutan Hospital in solid leadership with Chad at the helm. It's a good feeling as I transition into retirement. Chad has always kept our team focused on quality, safety and service. I have no doubt his leadership skills will serve Mary Rutan Hospital well into the future," said Goble.
"Mary Rutan Hospital has had only two CEOs in the past 40 plus years. I am excited and humbled to continue my career with Mary Rutan Hospital and follow the examples of talent, dedication and longevity established by Mandy Goble and Butch Crawfis before her. I am proud to be part of a team that truly values people, safety and quality care for the communities we serve. Having grown up in Logan County and living here for most of my life, I know how important it is for our team at Mary Rutan Hospital not only to be local leaders in healthcare but also in the overall prosperity of our region," said Ross.
Additional changes to the administrative team include Christy Myers, RPh, PharmD, to fill the Vice President of Operations position. Christy has worked in the pharmacy department at Mary Rutan Hospital since she began as an intern in 2003 and served as the Director of Pharmacy since 2017. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Ohio Northern University and she is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
