Mary Rutan Health welcomes Dr. Suzie Avila back to her hometown of West Mansfield, Ohio, and is pleased that she chose Bellefontaine, Ohio, to continue her plastic and reconstructive surgery practice.
Dr. Avila offers expert surgical and non-surgical areas of specialty, including cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, injectables and medical-grade skin care.
A native of West Mansfield, Ohio, and an Alumna of Ben Logan High School, Dr. Avila headed to the University of Dayton to complete her undergraduate degree. She then attended the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
After her time in Athens, Dr. Avila moved to Pennsylvania, where she completed an extensive five-year general surgery residency at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Barre. From there, she moved to Iowa to further her expertise through a three-year plastic surgery fellowship at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
After completing her fellowship and building a successful practice in Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Avila and her growing family felt the pull to return to her roots in Logan County. As the area’s only female plastic surgeon, Dr. Avila’s goal is to combine her abilities with each patient’s vision to deliver the results they desire. Whether a patient is seeking restoration of their body after cancer, childbirth, weight loss, traumatic injuries or simply wants to enhance their natural beauty—Dr. Avila is here to help.
