MaryRutanHospital Names Goble as New CEO

Bellefontaine,OH – The Board of Trustees of Mary Rutan Hospital is pleased to announce the promotion of Amanda C. Goble to President and CEO of Mary Rutan Hospital. Ms. Goble assumes the new title, effective immediately, after serving as the Hospital’s Executive Vice President since March 2001.

“The Board’s confidence in Ms. Goble was made quite clear as the Board voted unanimously to promote Ms. Goble from Executive Vice President to Chief Executive Officer of Mary Rutan Hospital”. “Mandy has proven herself to be a strong and effective leader, and we are thrilled that she has accepted an even greater role within our organization,” said Pat Barnes O’Connor, Chairman of the Mary Rutan Hospital Board of Trustees.

Goble, in response to the Board’s decision, stated, “It is an honor and a privilege to continue to serve Mary Rutan Hospital and the Board of Trustees in this new expanded role -- this is a wonderful opportunity at an amazing institution,” Goble said.  “MaryRutanHospital has been a part of my life for nearly 15 years, and I appreciate the confidence of the Board and consider it a true honor to lead Mary Rutan Hospital.

And having been a part of this community for some time, I am keenly aware that Mary Rutan Hospital is a precious resource that must be carefully tended and preserved.” Goble continued, “We have one of the finest community hospitals in the country and the most talented and dedicated staff you’ll find anywhere.  It’s my goal to keep it that way.”

Goble joined MaryRutanHospital in May 1989 as Assistant Vice President and that same year was promoted to Vice President of Operations.  Twelve years later, as part of the succession planning and with the knowledge of the upcoming retirement of Ewing H. Crawfis, Goble was promoted to Executive Vice President.

“Ms. Goble has been working closely with former CEO, Ewing Crawfis for the past several years in preparation for what was to be his planned retirement in October 2004.  Therefore this promotion is a natural succession,” says Rick Gildow member of the Board of Trustees for the past 10 years.

“It has been the plan and wish of the board to have Ms. Goble assume the role of President of Mary Rutan Hospital upon the retirement of Butch Crawfis. Although this transition has occurred a few months sooner than expected, due to the untimely passing of Mr. Crawfis, the Board is confident and  pleased to have someone with the knowledge, skills and leadership that Ms. Goble possesses”, says Dean Horn, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

“Mandy has done a tremendous job atMaryRutanHospital, helping us achieve much of our success today.  She understands the nature of healthcare service delivery and has impeccable leadership qualities.  We’re fortunate to have her as our new CEO,” says Dr. Grant Varian, Medical Director for MaryRutanHospital.

Prior to joining MaryRutanHospital in 1989, Goble was a Marketing Manager at RiversideMethodistHospital.  Goble holds an undergraduate degree and M.B.A. from MarshallUniversity. In 1992, she completed the Executive Program in Healthcare Management from the College of Medicine at The Ohio State University.  She has achieved Diplomate status in the AmericanAcademy of Medical Administrators and serves as the organization’s Regional Director.  She is a member of the AmericanCollege of Healthcare Executives and is involved in numerous community organizations.
